Hello everybody! Please meet Rafael S. de Souza (Rafa), Brazilian astrophysicist, amateur sci-fi writer, data scientist and an enthusiastic Overleaf user! Rafa gave us this lovely interview and told us about his research and how Overleaf is a key tool for his work — we hope you enjoy it!

Overleaf enables our team to collaboratively work out technical mathematics ideas and formulations from quite disparate geographies. This was already important pre-pandemic as my research collaborators can be from all over the world, but the benefits have been further amplified during the pandemic.

When Erik Schön chose to write his book, The Art of Strategy: Steps Towards Business Agility, his research, along with positive feedback from friends and colleagues, led him to Overleaf. He wanted something that would enable him to produce a beautifully typeset document that could be exported and uploaded straight onto Amazon’s print on demand platform, and Overleaf fitted that requirement perfectly.

Lin William Cong is an assistant professor of Finance and PhD advisor at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and faculty member at the Center for East Asian Studies. He recently reached out to Overleaf to offer his compliments on our service, and we took the opportunity to ask him a few questions about collaboration – what it means to him and how it's part of the challenges and successes of his work.

I am a researcher in physics at CNRS and I have been writing latex documents for more than twenty years: writing articles, reports and also latex-presentations with Beamer, both in English and French.
